Do you need to remove the bumper to change the headlight on a 2006 Passat?

My dealership is telling me that this is necessary. I have other people telling me this is just crazy. Can someone provide some guidance on this?Do you need to remove the bumper to change the headlight on a 2006 Passat?Headlight bulb replacements in VW's are a nightmare. I have a '01 Jetta and you have to remove the battery to get access to the left headlight. The right (passenger side) headlight is a bit easier to get to but it's not a quick swap. I would assume the newer Passat's are the same.

Here's a blog showing how to replace the right headlight.

Compare what they show/saw to your car to see if it's the same setup. If so, you can do it yourself with some tools.Do you need to remove the bumper to change the headlight on a 2006 Passat? No you do not have to remove the bumper.
